  Professional Career

  Mr. Carl Wegner is Vice President of Business Development, Asia Pacific Region and is based in TradeCard’s Taiwan office. At TradeCard, Mr Wegner is responsible for driving the expansion of the company’s financial product portfolio. This includes recruiting new financial institutions as financial services partners and managing relationships with existing banking partners who offer a range of services to TradeCard customers. Mr Wegner is also responsible for the development of TradeCard's geographic expansion in North, South and East Asia.

  Carl has over 12 years of experience in corporate banking and over 18 years’ experience of working in Asia. Prior to joining TradeCard Mr Wegner worked for Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) from 1995 to 2000 where he was responsible for Transactional Banking sales for Institutional Banking globally.

  Carl is a regular article contributor for trade-related business media and a regular speaker at conferences and seminars. Amongst many other events, he spoke at the APEC Symposium on Paperless Trading in Taiwan last year and will be participating in the 2005 event as well. Carl speaks fluent Mandarin and holds a double major in Chinese and Chinese History from Georgetown University.
